I picked up an older Bandera yesterday at a garage sale and decided to check out your forum. I cleaned it and gave it a quick,crappy paint job and am preparing to do the mods- kinda like my theory on guns-it's not your's until you screw with it.
I've been using Big Chiefs and my oven for too long and when the Bandera showed up, I knew what I needed to do. It was in good condition with just light surface rust in some areas and missing the grate,meat hangers,and rib rack. No big deal. I plan on building a better grate/box anyway and can make a hook or two while I'm at it.
