• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Just placed an order for both of the smaller sample packs from Oakridge BBQ. I've read numerous posts about people using them and being pretty happy. Until now I've been making my own pork and brisket rubs and feel pretty good about them but always looking to try something new.

Really looking forward to the death dust and carne crosta as well as the black ops.

We really enjoy the dominator rib rub, black ops, game changer brine, secret weapon, and santa maria among others.

You won't be disappointed

Great choice! I tried the same one and have not looked back since. Thought my rubs were pretty good....nah. So much more going on with rubs like these. Another level entirely.

Well turns out there shipping schedule is a little weird. Won't ship out until next Monday the way it looks.

They are only about an hour and 20 minutes away, I guess I could just drive out there and check them out sometime.

They process the orders on a weekly basis and make the rubs as they are ordered. They are not sitting on a shelf slowly aging over time. You will get only the freshest of the spice blends, to me it's worth any wait because you can taste the difference...

That makes sense, worth the wait then to get fresh product.

It must be better to order directly from them rather than buy in the stores here since the store product could be quite a bit older.

After ordering there sample kit, we liked it so much we just ordered there competition bbq kit. We can't wait to get it!

Now this thread has me wondering, I was going to order some Oakridge BBQ rubs off from Amazon prime. They are sold from Oakridge BBQ and listed "in stock" and have a number of whats available to ship now if I want to receive it by tomorrow.

Are these old packets that never sold? Just wondering why if you order from their site you have to wait but if you order through Amazon you can get it the next day? Even though it's through amazon Oakridge BBQ is the seller.

I don't see why it would matter. I don't think having it made to order would make much of a difference, I doubt they are making dried garlic, cayenne and salt to order, they're just mixing spices together and tossing it into a bag to order.

I just ordered the 10 sample pack from their site though, hopefully it doesnt take forever to get to me.

he does not have a actual store to go buy it from but it is in some local stores in the area if you want to make the drive ?

It doesn't matter, I was just responding to the comment that they only "make to order".

I also ordered some off Amazon today that is suppose to be here tomorrow.

No, the supplier (Amazon) orders their supplies just like anyone else, they are made and the order is filled and shipped to the supplier. I don't think Oakridge is the seller, only the producer. Look to the far right to see who actually fulfills the order for you, don't see Oakridge as any of the four vendors who sells them.

No but spices loose their potency and the essential oils in the spice breakdown over time. Rule of thumb is that spices begin to go flat in flavors after a year.

They order the ingredient spices fresh and mix them as ordered, thus they do not have cases of them sitting in a warehouse somewhere, and then move them out to distribution to sit even longer.

They also have a money back guarantee if they are not to you liking, don't see other rub producers with the same offer.

You are correct, all I saw was the "by OakRidge Products" in blue which made me think they were selling it directly.

All the way to the right had the "Sold By" name of the vendor, learned something new.

I can't wait to get some of this Oakridge BBQ Secret Weapon Pork & Chicken Rub on some chicken breast and into the smoker Fri!

I love the carne crosta, santa maria and secret weapon but have not found the perfect balance with hdd

sounds like a good company, Im excited to get their samples to see which rubs I like best.

I know alot of companies just give their recipes to large spice manufacturers and have them pretty much do everything for them. same with bbq sauce.

I have grill grates being delivered tomorrow so next weekend I will have to do some good reverse sear steaks with the new rubs and see how everything turns out
