• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Fired up the Bumpkin just now....finally. Both happy and sad..:tape:

An 8# bag of Royal Oak Lump fits perfect in the basket, and I put a few chunks of cherry in it too. Got the seal of approval from my little guy

I am going to cook a couple of naked fatties, 2 racks of ribs, 2 pieces of salmon and some beans today. Lets see what this thing can do...ill post up pics along the way!

And since it has off-road suspension and tires, I figured I should light it up off-road!

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!! The Bumpkin is alive!!! Awesome job Shane!!! Keep us updated on her performance. I hope that your sadness is short lived....once you finish cooking all of that food I'll bet you will be happy once again.

Thanks brother, appreciate it. Little guy is all over me today and wanting to help cook everything, that itself is reward enough:mrgreen:

Got food prepped now, brining some salmon, trying a couple new rubs on some ribs, and the naked fatties about to go on. One with Killer Hogs and the other the newest rub from Rubbin Right.

A friend of mine asked me how the insulation was working on this one. Just like Chain Smoker, it has a little something extra to it

So I ran outside with my infrared gun to check it...door at 275 and surprisingly the top is stupid cold! It has been windy and raining off and on...this hasnt skipped a beat! Oh and you can see I waxed this :)

Ribs were nice :)

Didnt enjoy the seasoning a ton, but the ribs were good! 4hours, no wrap, great bite and tug, juicy and tender but not fall off the bone.

The sweet bourbon glaze was the best of the two, the other one was very meh. The ribs had a great smokey flavor without overpowering by any means. All in all, very excited considering this is my first cook and it was with Royal Lump...lol

You got yourself a fine cooker Shane. That glaze sounds good. Which rub didn't taste to good?
