Had to cook the Birds, Breaker tripped on fridge I keep on the porch. They were half thawed when I noticed my beer wasn't cold. So I moved them from the freezer to the fridge and let them thaw. Plan to freeze what isn't eaten. They all came out very tender and juicy. Will post finished pics in the morning.

Matthew just turned six. We were at the pit. I had just got through explaining about the importance of respecting the fire and the pit area. Explained how easy it would be to get hurt or burned very bad. I had the chimney going and it was ready to add to the firebox. I picked it up off the ground. I no sooner did this and was pouring into the firebox. And Matthew immediately put his bare foot down on the exact spot the chimney was sitting. Let out a yell that would curdle you blood. At first I didn't know what he had done. He's OK, minor burn. He didn't understand that the ground under the chimney would be hot too. He understands now. He looks up at me and says," I won't do that again.

Labor Day, It's fitting, because now the cleanup begins. I do have two full slabs I cooked& put back. Once I clean my kitchen I'm going to reheat and make a couple more whole slab sammies.
