• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Fatties seem to be really big on this forum - and I luvs me sum fatties! :lol: I rub mine with my 11-spice rub and then wrap in bacon - Yum!

 
never cooked it before, didnt even know what it was until i joined this forum, im gonna do my first one on sunday

Dang! MrsMista suggested stuffing the fatty with pulled pork. Now bacon wrapped? Put them together and it's a pork bonanza!

If you put that sucker on a stick, dunked it in batter and deep fried it, I'm thinkin it might be real popular at the state fair! I can taste it now with a slather of mustard and a cold beer.

Sledneck here is some valuable advice on fatties, cook several at a time not just one. It won't last long and you will need another. I fixed eight last sunday and only have two left.

Had you done fatties before Madison? I can't remember if I got the idea fro you or elsewhere. Those were my first.. and I've been hooked since! And the bacon works well... it serves as a slicing guide! I've only ever done them with bacon until I did the armadillo eggs with caramlized onion, peppers and cheese.

I think there should be a forum fattie contest... Categoris in presentation, uniqueness and degree of difficulty. Really push the envelope on fattie ingenuity!

Fattie soft tacos... that's what I've decided I'm having for lunch tomorrow... and I'm going to be trying to make some fancy armadillo eggs... Pictures will be coming.
 
OK... Now you've done it... I'm pulling my entire fatty stash out of the freezer! I think I can fit 6 or 7 on the lower grate of my WSM. Three racks of BBs are going on top.
 
I did see on one of the cooking shows where they took burger and squished it like a hot dog shaped onto wooden skewers and then grilled them. Dont see why you couldn't do that with sausage and make individual fattie suckers.

I caught a preview where they were taking a hotdog on the bun, dipping it in batter and deep frying the whole thing. Sooo, I'm thinkin' fatties, armadillo eggs, abt's, hey, any thing q'd and then battered and deep fried would have to be good.
 
I love smoking fatties, but every time we finish, I start to get hungry and feel like listening to Pink Floyd.....:rolleyes:
