• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

My old masterbuilt dual fuel has finally bit the dust... Or should I say rust . She was good to us for many years. RIP little smoker. ha..

SO heres the fun part. What would you guys recomend as a replacement? I would prefer to stick with propane.

I recently bought a 270 smoker and man I highly recommend one, an absolute dream to cook on.......

I've read lots of good things about the Camp Chef Smoke Vault 24

Have you thought about a pellet smoker/grill? I know their propane but they are pretty easy to work on. I don't what your $ number is or much smoker your looking for. Ole Hickory has a small wood/propane smoker for around $5500. Pellet smokers are the current rage right. Good luck with your search.

I'm a big fan of the camp chef smoke vault 24... lots of room, packer fits on a rack, whole slabs of ribs fit, etc. fits 8-10 slabs of ribs or 6 8lb butts. pretty darn easy to control temp from 100-400 degrees; also can cold smoke easily in there with a pellet tube (amazen) and no gas. Cover off to cooking in less than 30 mins... I've got it hooked up to natural gas with their conversion kit so no tanks to mess with. Not as well built as the broil king smoke, which looks very solid, but ~ 1/2 the price and more room- insulation/ double wall not as important when using propane (which is why they get away with thin walls). Also have camp chef pellet (though I replaced the controller) and am big fan of campchef. I use them both a lot but cook with sticks whenever time allows... (like today) I also used the smoke vault 18 a few years back when I lived in a town home and didn't have any space- those 6 inches make a HUGE difference in whole slabs and bigger cuts.

Hope that helps!

I have a smoke hollow two burner unit and really like it.
YMMV. My Smoke Hollow sux. Thin metal, arrived with bent parts, couldn't get it above 250 degrees yesterday. The outside temp wasn't even cold. 50 degrees or so.

That is weird, with water in the pan I can hit 275. That is from a temp sensor at the grate. With insulation I can hit 350 in the middle of winter with high winds. You may want to check to see if your burners are clogged.
Sorry, the picture does not want to rotate.

Goes on sale fairly regularly, got mine for $180. Swapped the chip pan for a cast iron pan and plan on adding a seal around the doors. Already gets to ~300 or slightly above. big enough to hold a whole hotel pan on a shelf. I just got a 19 pound packer, 2 butts, 2 turkey breasts, and a pan of beans in mine for a cook last week.

Lots of great ideas for improvements to make in the amazon reviews.
