• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Some have lots of woods and use fuel from their own place, I get free fuel from my neighborhood... people cutting down trees, storm damage etc..

I know I tend to fire up the grill for the smallest of things all the time that IDK I would for if i had to pay for splits. The grill would be fired up often but not sure quite as often.

No. I'd cook the same amount. For what it cost i dont even consider it an expense. Last time i bought wood so much showed up i started giving it to friends.

i don't think i could cook any more than i already do - i cook on the grill somewhere between 4 and 8 meals a week as it is. hell, sometimes i cook something to eat while i'm cooking.

but i'd take all the free fuel i could stack!

I voted no. I don't keep track of fuel costs. Heck, I stopped buying meat in bulk when on sale because it's a pain to keep track of when I need to cook something by a certain date. I also don't cook several times per week anymore. Free fuel wouldn't change my cooking habits. I love to cook but I try not to get crazy and burn myself out.

I always buy fuel in excess, so it don't matter to me. I suppose not everyone is lucky enough to buy so much or let alone store it though

Yea I was getting there Paul so I went to get more creative and use the outdoor cooker for what I'd normally do on my stove burners or oven. I almost can't stand things like ribs, pork butt and brisket any more...those normal bbq type of staples get cooked sparingly. The more out of the BBQ norm the better.

No, most of the time I'm just cooking for my wife and I so there are always lots of leftovers after a cook. The cost of fuel is irrelevant to me.

It would not make a difference at all. Will cook just as much. I am always looking for deals though.

I believe Im In this category.. Would still cook as often but always looking for a deal since Im Just lighting it on fire.

Yesterday was a perfect example of cooking more because it's easy quick and free. Cooked a few things then realized later I should have cooked more so just fired the cooker back up.

Gotta say I would have thought twice if I was budgeted on how much I had and if I had to buy it or was hard to find a good supplier.

I chose maybe only because free fuel or cheap fuel is not a option where I live. Yes I can get mesquite for free but it is at a cost of very hard work and a beat-up body that looks like you were in a fight with a cat for a week or two after cutting. Plus I do not own a chain saw. I don't mind paying for fuel it's a little inconvenient to have to go get it but its part of the process.

If I had a good supply of wood- free or not- I'd do more "real wood" cooking instead of using charcoal. But I would not cook more frequently than I do now. I've called my work week "that period between cooks".

My schedule dictates the frequence of my grilling/smoking. Besides we are now only two in the house so eating the leftovers in between cooks

I suppose I fall more into this camp....BUT there are times where I do more smaller faster type cooks in one day like Football Saturdays because I can just fire up the grill not worrying about fuel or keep it going knowing I'll throw more on later.

XX - This is a silly question, fuel doesn't limit my cooking.

You missed a response, I'm not sure fuel is a missing element to cooking more. I could cook everyday over wood or charcoal if I wanted. Sometimes you need variety, convenience or the right tool for the job rather than free wood or charcoal.
