• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I was told that the Kamado Joe Jr is a searing beast...

To say that I am impressed would be grossly understated!! Here's the end of a looooong reverse sear on 2 tri-tips. 3 hours of low n slow smoke on the MAK (pit temp of 170-180), followed by a 2 min/side sear on each tri-tip at 650°. Family loved it!!

Oooo... Shiny! :-D

Nice looking tri-tip!

Brother, that JR is the KING of the sear. To get an even better/quicker sear, drop the cooking grate to the fire ring height. OH BOY! You better stand there with the meat as the crust forms really quick and will get away from you in a heartbeat. Looks outstanding!

Was thinking that very thing as I was cooking these tri's. It would have put me about a 1/2" from the fire :-)

I love my kettle and my stick burner, but I really want to make a Kamado my third cooker. Your TT look great!
