• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Some guy called me for a home delivery catering job. He wanted bbq chicken, pork ribs and tri-tip for 40 people, all he wanted to spend was $100 bucks. What do you think guys should I tell him to just give me 50 bucks to give him a break on the price:-D

Say what   I can spend almost $100 when just cooking for myself & family on any given weekend

tell him to knock at least 30 people off the guest list

Only way I'd do that is if it was leftovers from a comp. Tell him pulled pork and chicken leg quarters. That's the most I'd do for $100. Pork Ribs? He's got to be stoned.

This guy seriously wants to feed people for $2.50 a head?

I hope you were kidding about the $50

LOL... Either the person hasn't been to a store in years or they are just plain crazy!!!! I would not even respond.

I recently di 50 people for $350. Does that help? Chicken leg Quarters and Pork Steak only. No sides. I don't cook for free NO MO!!

Here on the middle coast - I dont see that going for less than $12/plate. Ribs, Tri-tip and Chicken....

Next he's gonna have a flashback to "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka" - and really go nuts "How much for one rib?" or, "How much for that drink, would you pour it in my hand for a quarter??"

Are you serious? What would it cost to feed 40 people Happy Meals at McDonalds?

Hell no. Don't get lowballed.

I learned this a long time ago when freelancing for work. There comes a time where you have to stop letting people take advantage of you. If you produce a quality product, then say so. And say that you expect to get paid for that product. No more doing jobs for free or for chump change.

I reckon I'd point blank ask the guy if he wants to feed 40 or if he wants to spend $100.
If he insists on only spending $100, cook him $100 worth of food. Let him worry about how he's gonna feed 40 people on 2 chickens and 2 racks of ribs.

Tell the guy to wake up. This is 2007, not 1967. I should know, I've been there.

tell him okay...open up a few cans of ranch style beens and take them to him!

I wouldn't even cook him two slabs.

4 chickens, A package of hot dogs, and tell him you will throw in the buns.

Fark 'em. he is beyond stoned.

Tell him to go to the grocery store and buy his ribs and chicken in the deli section.
See what he gets for $100.

He's nuckin' futs....

we won't touch anything for under $10.00 a pound, and that's pulled pork, dropped off. Delivery charge if they are not in our typical daily travel path. Ribs, you need to get $18-$20 a slab. Tell him to pound sand.

I would have to think long and hard about doing it for $100 even if he furnishes the meat, charcoal and wood chunks.
