• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

The Day did not start off well. My beautiful brined freak kill Turkey sat in the fridge registering at 42*. Into the trash. Luckily Wegmans had an unfrozen premium Turkey- 15.25 lbs. set the Egg at 350 with lump charcoal. Separated the skin from the breast and put bags of ice on it

About 45 min later I put soften butter under the skin. Did a rather feeble attempt at trussing the Turkey. Coated the skin with olive oil and used Smoken' Dudes chicken rub to season

Put it on the Egg. Cooking nicely

Pulled when the breast was exactly 160*. Inside ready to be covered

Part of it sliced. 1st time trying deconstructing a
Turkey

Played with stuffing. John Cope's Brown Corn, sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top, mashed potatoes, and of course Turkey

Tasted pretty good. A little drier than I thought it would be. It tested about 20 min before slicing. It was a good meal and I had great company- my wife Kay and my son Josh. Thanks for looking

You indeed have a lot to be thankful for.
Why was the brined bird so warm?

Everything looks delicious George!

Sorry to hear about the 1st bird but don't blame you a bit for tossing it.
