Huge Butt

Someone posted recently about finding one and we all speculated that it was really a 2-pack.

Well, last night I was at the Food Lion down the street and I browsed through the meat department, as is my habit, and something caught my eye.

I did a double take and examined it closely, but this is one solid piece of pork, and it also says so on the label. An 18.31 lb butt...I think that qualifies as huge.

It's 2 butts, you can see the separation line through the cryo. You have one very large butt, maybe 11 lbs, and one medium butt, maybe 8.3 lbs.

Just realized my math was off 11 lbs and 7.3 lbs. Or something close to that.

Whatever the weights are, they look edible to me. It would be interesting to see how close my weight guestimate is.

Did you buy it? Interesting to see for sure if it's one piece. Having raised a few hogs, I would agree, that hog would have weighed 500 or close to it. Let us know how it goes

I can see where it might be a two piece, Food Kitty usually only sells single butts. If it's one piece then that was a Hogzilla. Harris Teeter has them for 99 cents this week for this area. Bought two and going back for more.

We get out Butts from Cash & Carry, they are IBP as well. Last one we got was 22 pounds. Onlyrics weighed one, touch under 12 pounds.
