• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I’m another retired military type, did 22 years as EOD still can count to 21 with my jeans off. Never really joined the Army just showed up for every war that they offered. Fell in love with Q when I was in Texas around 1966 or 67. (No I was not in the military then I am just 44 .) Never could get it where I was living in California. So for the last 30 plus years I have been trying one thing or another to get the very best that I could. Had many German’s fighting over the stuff that I was making there. We live in Virginia and have a place in the Blue Ridge foot hills, plus one outside of Richmond (for work). Love to Have Ya’ll up here for a cook out any time of the year.

Welcome Trout.

Glad to have another Army type here

Just stay away from Sgt Hulka.

What kind of cookers you got?

Welcome Trought.. Saw ya hangin around in the backwoods, glad ya came out past the treeline. Watch out what ya ask for.. members in our group have this uncanny ability of showing up at doorsteps when oit comes to Q.

Trout, Welcome. Glad to have you with us. Hope you'll share some of your experience with us. You might learn something here too, if you're lucky some of it will have to do with Q.

Glad to have you, Trout! Spent about 6 months in Luray, Va in the Shendandoah Valley - beautiful country.

Welcome, brother Trout. I got a sister in law living in Arlington. Some of us are newbies at Q, but no less passionate than the veterans. With your experience I hope to learn a thing or two from you. I've certainly learned plenty hanging out here and I hope you can pick up some new tricks, too.

As well, you are welcome to come by the Twin Cities for a smoke session.

Sgt. Hulka is a pussy!

You guys need to ask Trout how to surgically cut wood :D Det cord and PETN were handy now and again. Saw a real BBQ/HE demo at Bad Toelz once upon a time.

I've cut down more then my fair share of trees with a few inches of det cord. Problem is you never have a place to light the grill on the battle field.

In the field? Garrison use so that the engineers could maintain proficiency. At least that's what I heard the SMaj. told the IG.

My First Grandson Shaw Matthew was born at 5:21 am wish I could go see him but I have 20 pound of brisket and 30 pounds of butt in the smoker. In fact I was about 3 sheets to the wind when my wife called to let me know. My daughter told me that he is ready to go fishing and learn how to BBQ. I guess I will have to learn to make BBQ baby food.

Good Move on the foiling. Q will be even better when ya get back.
Ain't no minimum age. Just keep him out of the "WoodPile" and "Jokes" for a while.
My "Little Jackson" only lived 3 weeks, but he is a "Baby BRO" to all of us.
If ya get him registered, I think you would be the first DAD/GrandKiddo members here
I think "Jacksons Dad" and I are the first DAD/Kiddo members. Not for sure.
Now, "pull" that Q and hug that GrandKiddo!
