• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

To answer your question, maybe not that primative. Or at least not on a regular basis. It might be fun for a gathering, but seems like a lot of work to end up with pot roast. :)

Belly Bro and I did this a few years back, everthing was going great, been cooking about 3 hours, when all of a sudden came a 6" rain, rained all night, went and looked in the pit the next morning after the rain. Well all I can say is "Dead Pigs Can't Swim".

I believe my avatar speaks for itself. but just in case; "been there done that." The method is also used around Pantagonia and traditional meat can also include baby calf, goat or lamb. Dave Little may find the latter 2 alternatives method especially convenient since they are pre-buried.
