I received a juice extractor for Christmas. I have always wanted one because I love fruit and vegetable juices. I looked on the Internet and found a lot of wacko sites that talk about cleansing and juice fasting. Yuk! I also looked on the American Cancer Society's site and they said that people that juice and talk about cleansing are of the belief that diarrhea from drinking too much green vegetable juice is somehow cleansing. Yuk! I did find one site that said right up front that the author juiced because she loved the flavor. She also said that there were plenty of other sites that touted the health benefits of juicing but she was going to stick to flavor. She also mentioned how to avoid getting "cleansing" from drinking too much green veggie juice. She had a pretty good site, but she did not mention much about how to fit juice into a BBQ lifestyle. So far the only thing that I have found is that you can use the pulp of carrots as a filler for meatloaf, and meatloaf cooked off in the BBQ pit is great. I also think I will try injecting various vegetable and fruit juices into meet before cooking. Does anybody have any other ideas that I can use with my new juicer?

Mix some juice into your bbq sauce.

I have to agree with the Mista. I don't have a juice but I do use various juices i.e., orange and cranberry, in marinades.

Suggested earlier by jminion, garlic juice and onion juice won't clog up your injector needle.

As a reference: I pay almost $5.00 for a 2 ounce bottle of either garlic or onion juice.

Throw a brisket in there and voila! A healthy protien shake!

I have a small juicer that I use for making pepper jellies...I juice the bell pepper and the jalapenos or habaneros or whatever...beats the heck out of using a blender. The one I have is tiny and the cup only holds about 1 cup of juice..however, that's the quantity I need for batches of jelly.

You could certainly juice out the peppers to add to your sauces, mops, or rubs. Or, as others have said: onion, garlic, or any flavor you want to add to your product.

However, you might want to clean the juicer real well after doing habaneros!

Completely serious question here. How about the need for a respirator?

Well, my wife has a problem with the haze...it doesn't usually get to me! I open the kichen windows and get the fan going before I start!

Use some of the delicious pulp mixed with some of the juice to make a potent fruit marinade. Personally, I would incorporate some of the ideas other posters had with peppers and whip up a Jamaican Jerk marinade. Nothing like BBQ jerk....

I think carbon toe is on the right path with mops, sops, and juice to spray your meat while smoking. Or drink the juice while your Q-ing befroe beer thirty then switch to the beer.

Whip it. Whip it good.

Marinating various meats in fruit juices is most of the time pretty darn good. Orange Juice is great for tenderaizing beef and giving great flavor. Lime/Lemon juice with Tequila marinating beef is an excellent Monterey like flavor. Bottmline, experment with various juices and see what you get....Worse comes to worse, you can smother with store bought sauce if the flavor isn't so hot.....JYD

this dont have much to do with bbq but when i had a juicer i used to heat up the juice of vegetables and make some great soup! carrots, celery, onions and garlic with whatever other vegetables you like, salt, pepper and maybe some plain breadcrumbs to thicken it up.
