I was talking to my folks about grilling tomorrow, I didn't have anything out tonight but the MOINK ball ingreidents and it's too hot for me right now to grill them.

Anyways my soon to be 3 year old little nephew, hugged my leg and looked up at me and said I want to go to the smoker, and I had to tell him not tonight, since it's too hot.

And he cried, Hes normally my little helper out there. I tell him to stay 10 feet away and hold the lid while I clean it out...

Least this way he can feel like hes helping.

I'm teaching him early, I don't show him starting the fire or anything like that!

So hopefully when hes 10 years old, I will be teaching him everything I've learned.

when hes 5 if hes responsible by then I'll start teaching him cuts of meat and so on..

Time for a Brethren hat for the lad. have you seen Little Bob Brisket's mini UDS? Get your tools out.
I did and it was pretty sweet.

Heck I don't even have a hat yet! But soon.

I'm ordering my membership & banner first..

Then the hat.

Derek, that's great! He must enjoy spending time with you. Hope you take some pics of your next cook with him. :-D

Very cool lteeing him help/teaching him.

Too Hot you live in Traverse City how hot can it be? LOL
Thanks, bro.

Trust me it was too hot today, but I'll be grilling MOINK balls tomorrow morning at first light, they're test balls for my nephews party!

I love it when it's too hot out, cheaper on the fuel that way.
Good lookin nephew you got there man.
Your glasses remind me of the agent off of Heroes.. dammit I forget his name.

It's amazing how eager to help and learn they are at that such a young age. Keep teaching him Derek. He appreciates it more than you know and can amaze you even at that age with what they can do. But you are right, safety first...always. Great picture too!!

Bob
