• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

After some recent discussion on rib rack options for my new smoker, I'm wondering if I built a wooden rib rack if it would hold up to the temperatures inside a smoker? Would 225° burn the wood? I'd honestly like to give it a try... Thoughts?

I'd be afraid of the absorbency of the wood. Don't want last weeks rib juice on this weeks ribs!

Besides, depending on the size of your smoker, a wooden rack would take up a lot of room and may not be practical.

I bought the one Lowes sells a couple of weeks ago for around 18 bucks. Flip it over and it's a roasting rack.
