• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I made a fire basket using the fire grate that came with the 'dera, 1/2" rebar, and 1/4" expanded metal. It's not real pretty but it works. Up until friday I've always done a horizontal burn going from the smoke chamber side to the dampers, (left to right on the NB). Friday I tried the Minion Method for the first time, WOW what a difference!! Used a full chimney of unlit Kingsford, 3 splits of Sweet Cherry, with a 1/2 chimney of lit Kingsford on top. Loaded in two 7# butts at midnight and went to bed with the temp holding at 230*. Got out of bed at 5:45 still had glowing embers and a chamber temp of 184*!! Added couple of splits and she was back to 220* in no time flat. Never have I been able to set it and forget it for 5 1/2 hours before. If you don't have a basket, get one or make one. It will be the Minion Method from here on out. Slow learner mod!!!

Hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, besides it is the finished meat that counts!! Sounds pretty good to me. Show us some pics.

Grats!!!

Got pix? Is it so ugly we can't be allowed to see it? <grin>

Yes it is ugly. If and when I ever get time to read the owners manual on the camera I'll post pictures.
