• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I'm a long time Weber Kettle griller. I've also done some low and slow smoking on the kettle and have always wanted an offset smoker. I saw the Brinkmann Smoke King Deluxe at the local Menards. Two weeks later my wife and kids got it for me for my birthday :) That was last weekend. I spent 2-3 hours putting it together and didn't have time to do anything else, other than some limited googling, until yesterday. Got a fresh bag of Kingsford, some lump charcoal, hickory chips and a few sticks of oak. I planned to do the curing and then grill achicken and smoke a turkey breast and a few sausages. Well, I got a late start, about noon. To make a long story short the turkey breast came out of the smoker around 4:15 AM, whew. During the course of this adventure I had trouble maintaining temp, it drizzled, the wind changed direction and velocity. Bottom line though, everything turned out GREAT! I did take some time yesterday reading online info. It looks like you guys have a pretty good group here and I look forward to learning from a getting to know a bunch of you.

That will change if you spend much time around here! Lots of help and laughs to be had, Always room for another. Welcome Brother ciret. Never be afraid to ask anything, mods, techniques, recipes or jokes always glad to fill in the blanks. Are you a Packers fan?

Welcome my new brother! This group took ME from being about as bad as it gets to about as good as it gets in less than 6 months. Read the 101 files, ask questions, and share results. that's about all you need to do here, just being part of us the learning curve gets shorter and you'll be fixin' competition quality Q in no time.

WELCOME Ciret.. GRab the Bandera 101 documetn from our files section. It applies tot he brinkman also and has alot of other generic stuff in it too...

you also got a bunch of kettlers here, myself included. So any kettle exploits ya got we welcome...

and welcome to you again..!

Welcome Eric

Love seeing this upper Midwest representation finally.

Don't be a stranger.

Thanks for the welcome.

I also like to fly big stunt kites, sail on tall ships, play with computers, play with my grandkids, listen to music, all kinds although I'm sort of partial to blues and jazz and cooking inside too.

Welcome, brother. I think we have an upper midwest chapter here. I'm a little to your west.

This site rocks, as does the brethren. Except for Sgt. Hulka. He is "el culo del perro."

Welcome from the warm weather part of the group - froze my ass off Sunday only got to 60

Welcome to the group Eric. Racine is a nice town. Been there several times; my wife's father grew up there.
