Greetings Brethren:
I’ve been lurking for a couple of weeks picking up pointers here and there. (All of which were excellent) And I figured it was time I introduce myself.
I’m from Long Island, New York and I’ve been grilling for years. With in the past 2 years I’ve been grilling over wood. It’s more work then just lighting a gas grill, but so much more worth it.
When I saw a smoker in my local homedepot. I became the kid who really really wanted the toy on the shelve of the toy store. After much rationalization and envisioning myself in front of the smoker I bought it. It’s a Char-Broil Silver Smoker. Definitely a low end unit, but good for a beginner.
With the wisdom of the Brethren, I had a successful four hour run of maintaining a 220 – 250 temp range with out any problem. I believe I’m ready for a test chicken. I told my wife to be ready to order take out that night.
It should be fun. I’ll post my results good or bad.
