• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Here's what we have going today....

It's a beautiful day in Southeastern PA and the pit is fired up. I have been reading about chuckies for the past week and had to throw one on. Figured as long as I am putting in the time for that may as well add some ribs, fatties, brisket and chicken thighs to keep "chuckie" company for the day. Here is a link to the fun so far.

Looks like good eats, we had a few light sprinkles here in South Texas, but were going to put a brisket on today.:-D

Little this, little that = another fine day.

Chuckie Looks like he is in Good Company in there!! Thanks for the Pron!!

Looks great, nice smoker. Hope you don't mind visited your Cabela's album, that place must be amazing.

Sure - Check out any album you like!
Cabelas is pretty amazing. We go to the Hamburg, Pa retail store which is about an hour fourty-five minutes from our home. It's a nice ride though the country side. Every time we go we see something new. Most of the pictures you see were taken from a "mountain" in the middle of the store. There are different regions and seasons represented. As you can see, "Big Al" is 'rasslin' a polar bear - quite a trick in Pennsylvania!
The African plain is in a different part of the store and there is another area that has to have at least 100 deer along with all sorts of smaller animals - raccoons, birds, otter, snakes etc. There are many people who go just to see the displays. Apparently yesterday we missed the aquarium - bummer - will have to go again - dang!
I picked up a few remote thermometers - a Polder for $20.00 and a roasting rack for ABT's. If you get the opportunity to visit one I highly recommend it - if you can resist making any purchases it's an inexpensive day out for the family.

Good looking food! Post up pics of the finished product.

I think BassPro is similar to Cabelas. It's over the top. The one I drove down to in Ft Myers to pick up my smoker is about the size of Home Depot... it's crazy!

Bass Pro grand opening 10 miles from the house on Thursday. Big a$$ sales ad in paper today!:-P

I stopped in at the same Cabelas mid to late afternoon yesterday after judging at the Berks BBQ Bash in Leesport and noticed a guy taking a bunch of pictures of the displays. It may have been you! As I remember the crowds were presenting a bit of a challenge for the picture taking.

Hope all the food turned out great!

Wer'nt me... I was there late morning and I don't quite fit the description... :-D
Both times I have been there it has been equally crowed but yesterday people were pretty good about not waking in front of me when I was trying to get a shot.

Had some of the ribs and chicken -both were good - Have tomorrow off (WOO HOO!!) and will be cooking up some eggs and a fattie for breakfast. I am trying to decide how I want to finish up the chuckie - may go the pot roast route... will get some pics and post them tomorrow.

OK - here are the pics as promised

The chicken, a rack of ribs and a fattie are missing... wonder where they could have possibly gone??

Everything except chuckie are safely vacumn sealed awaiting another day. Chuckie got a nice gentle warming today with some onions and potatos - OMG - Thanks for the tip guys! I have a new favorite dish.

I hope you don't mind but I was looking at some of your other pics and I have to ask. What kind of camera are you using? You have some great shots in there!! :-D

Gracie Belle and Indigo are cute pups.:-D

Gotta love them pups!!

What kind of pup is Indigo?
She has the most blue eyes I have ever seen.

You are welcome to check out the pics.....

The camera is a Nikon d50 - christmas present from my hubby.
Most of the shots are with a 80 - 200 mm lens although some were taken with an 18-55 mm lens. Some were tweaked with Paint Shop Pro.
The pics of Gracie Bell were taken by my brother-in-law, a professional at what ever he does - he also uses a Nikon SLR but I am unsure of which model.
Gracie Bellis is an English yellow lab - part of my sisters family and Indigo is a Blue Merle Australian Sheperd, part of my sister-in-laws family. Indy, or Lucy (short for Lucifer) is about 16 weeks now and is one seriously high energy puppy. We just lost our 16.5 y/o Golden last month and are trying to decide is we want another puppy right now and an after noon with Lucy - I mean Indigo - gives me pause.
Anyway - way more information then you asked for - but there it is!

LOL - I love "Big Al" too. That is also my husbands name - when we got the pit they had welded his b-day inside - we figured that was the day they finished?? What else could we name it at that point?
