• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

That is a really nice looking bird. Did you brine it or ? Inquiring minds want to know.
Yep.....let it soak overnight....a recipe was posted a couple of days ago for the brine...go back and look for some other turkey threads. I had to sample a bit before I put it on the platter and into the frige,,,,it was very good!!!! Family does not want anymore oven cooked birds now!

Nothing quite like smoked turkey. Good looking bird!

Great looking bird. How did you position it in the smoker? I'm planning to do my first turkey on the Bandera (unless my Klose arrives in time!) for Thanksgiving. Right now I'm thinking I'll position it upright, "beer can" style, but I'm looking for input.

Just set it in the middle.....I do however need to remove the upper wire racks...they were in the way!
