• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Here is what my hubby bought me.......

Got home today and there was a Great Outdoor Charcoal Smoker on my door step.
You may ask why I would need a little smoker when I have a lovely Klose sitting on my patio - well - I am not a fan of the sea food but my husband is. I can't bring myself to put seabugs in the Klose but I can't deny him the seafood he loves so much. As you can see, we have a win-win situation. Gonna fire it up this weekend and season it. Any suggestions for what to put in it to christen it?

I'd put a couple of turkeys, a whole yellow squash, a green pepper or two and a few potatos in it!

Seriously, I've been wanting to try BBQ oysters. Might be a good start.

I have one next to my Silver Smoker and my Bandera. It's a nice little smoker when all you want is a fatty, abts or a quick beer can chicken.

I have that same cooker and I love it. You can see some mods I made to mine by clicking on the link in my signature below.

I have the Propane GOSM and I heard the charcoal one could use some mods.
I think the main issue is the charcoals smothering in ash, is there a coal grate on this one? You will probably want to season it first, they are painted on the inside too. Mine came with a video instruction guide, I yours did not, here is a site that can help if you have any GOSM questions.

Cool smoker, that would be awesome to have sitting on my doorstep. I gotta show this thread to my wife maybe she will do the same for me in the future hint hint.

A bit extreme for a few Sea critters!! I like your style!!!

Put in a whole load of Clam's and Mussels over fruit wood and then serve them up with a nice light white wine, garlic and cream sauce or chilli and ginger one.

I picked up one of these (or something ver similar) over the summer for smoking in the park. The rib tips I made in it came out fantastic. Haven't had it out in the park since, but I'm looking forward to doing so one more time before summer lets out totally...

Nice hubby you have there...I won't let fish in either of my smokers & I love smoked salmon, but just don't want to fark them up with that fish smell.

Let us know how your first fish smoke goes...

Nice hubby you have there...

Without a doubt!
Thank you all for the well-wishes and the info - I do believe there will be some mods done on this bad boy. Now to come up with a name......
