Hello fellow BBQers. My name is Dale Perry and I am a Q-aholic. Now that I got that over with here is a little about me.
I am a self employed glorified Concrete Man having been doing this all my life. I cater on the side. Just started getting into competition this year and we are hooked. Our biggest acomplishment so far has been winning 1st place in chicken at the Owensboro Ky KCBS cook in 2006. Still in shock, 3 comps under our belt, and 3 trophys on our mantle. I tend to mention that a lot. Not really bragging, just amazed. We hope to cook in 6 or 7 events this year. Our goal is set high.
We cook on a 17 foot long homemade cooker that we call "The Beast". It is a reverse flow that works good as long as you keep an eye on it. We have plans on adding a chest-BWS type cooker to it real soon mainly for all nighters. 5-7 hours sleep would be nice. I have a chargriller, kettle, and a WSM too and I cant forget about the ol gas grill that is out back.
I have been married for 19 years and we have a 16 yr old girl and a 12 yr old boy. My wife thinks im nuts.
Well that is my story and Im sticking to it.
