Hey everybody! My name is Zach from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I am having a absolute blast exploring the world of barbecue and learning as much as I can as I go.
I have been around basic grilling and bbq for most of my life, but this past year was when I really caught the bbq bug. There is nothing more fun than cooking outdoors, sometimes in the elements, and creating incredible food. The reward of the food, and the process is unlike anything else. Probably most importantly, I get so much enjoyment from sharing the experience with friends and family, often taking more enjoyment seeing others enjoy the food, having fun and enjoying the experience, rather than cooking for just myself. Nothing else comes close to matching the social aspect of barbecue.
I have really enjoyed reading through the forums and have learned so much from them. I am excited to get involved and not only ask questions, but also share some of my experiences with others. I have been using mainly my weber kettles 22.5", one set up most of the time as a smoker with the smokenator. I love the kettles for the simplicity, yet the quality of the food that can be cooked on it is incredible. I love the hands-on aspect of the kettles, the learning curve took a bit of time but it really taught me a lot about the process of smoking. Its always fun watching your friends reaction when one kettle is hovering at 225* and one is searing steaks at staggering temperatures by just adjusting the fuel and vents.
That said, this forum has exposed me to many other cool methods and products, and am really excited to continue to learn and practice the techniques, to explore other equipment and to read and share some great stories.
Best Regards,
Zach
