Sort have come by this forum, out of need for correct information. Since there are so many experts out there, that can tell a person what is wrong with their equipment! But never seem to be able to get around to tell what to do to correct it. I figured it was time to find out the real deal, and this joint looks to be it! My son has been in to Q for a while and has been renting pits for doing charity gigs, VA, FOP etc. His friend was supposed to build him a smoker, but 10 days before cook date he balks, and says well here what you do. Some of the information we had didn't work out to make it an easy build. But I learned a lot and all ready have some corrections for problems and any operational glitches.
Here is a photo of it, on the way to finish the burn in /seasoning.
Well it worked flawlessly and the Vet's cleaned up all the pork and left nothing but empty pans! This is only the second smoker/grill, I have built. Did an Horizontal Detroit drum grill years ago that got the son started, on his road to smoke and fire. I'm looking forward learning more and sharing info of materials, tools, etc. with the Brethren. I'm retired and it worked out that 12/14 hours days we finished it up. It comes off the trailer for use or storage, so the trailer can be used for other things. In addition to the 4 flat base trailer jacks, placed on top of 4 cinder blocks for the correct cooking height
