I little bit about me and my guys...
I have been BBQing for 25 years for family and friends. My best work is with pork ribs and my home made sauce. I'll do a butt now and then but all the family really wants are the ribs!
Three years ago my youngest (junior in high school now) suggested I enter a local contest, which I did, an now we are hooked! We don't place high because we cook for ourselves and not judges. And that's OK by us!
My main partner (we call him Bud 2) is our butt man. Best I have ever tasted. Simple pork, light rub, no sauce.
Our third guy is on brisket. Does a special rub, mop, and sauce, just for beef. Is is definitely a crowd pleaser! Oh, and he does a mean whole hog on Memorial Day each year.
OK...enough bragging for now.
We'll try and do at least 3 or 4 competitions each year and smoke at home every weekend during the summer.
