Hello fellow cookers! My name is Derek Hartman and I'm an Active Duty Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy currently stationed in Colorado Springs. I'm originally from Grainfield, Kansas and upon my retirement from the Navy, my wife and I will be moving back east to Vinton, Ohio. Backwoods Grillin' was established in January 2013 and we plan on competing in our first ever BBQ Competition in May 2013 so any advice you may have for the novice competitor would greatly be appreciated. Thank-you in advance and I look forward to reading and learning from the forums here on BBQ Brethren.
