I am new at posting to forums so hopefully this will come out ok. I started reading this forum last July I think it was and with the help of this forum I've smoked some pretty nice briskets and pork ribs in my Old Country Smoker from Academy. I entered a neighborhood competition last August and took third place in brisket which I could not have done without all of your help.

I look forward to learning more about smoking and sharing my BBQ experiences.

Here are a few pics of my smoker and the tiny trophy I won.

Competition picture. Out of 15 teams we were one of the smallest smokers. Most of the teams had these huge rigs...

It may not look it but that is the look of exhaustion.... My team all went home and left me to drink beer and tend the fire all night. I think I had been up close to 50 hours at this point...

Welcome from cajun country. My wife bought me the same cooker last year for my birthday, but since i built my UDS it does see a lot of cooking time except for steaks .

Caution that first trophy can end up being expensive. Welcome. Should be neighbors soon as I'm moving to Austin.
