• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Leaving the evening of the 16th, will be in Fort lauderdale on the 17th, islamorada on the 18th, then amelia island on the 19th and 20th. Got any recs for some decent Que??? Scott

Scott,
You could make the hour drive up to St. Simons and meet my folks. My dad will treat you to some of the best Q around, then you could go visit Ben Lang's shop. Ask Phil, as he spent a bit if time in the area last year. Anyway, have a great time, and I am very envious!

The only Q of real quality is at the Pit on the Trail about 20-miles out of your way in Miami.

There's Shorty's in S. Miami but I think it is over rated

Fort the best Grouper sandwedge in FL need to stop at the 7-mile grill in the keys

Work some people down there and they always rave about the Cuban pig roasts. I wonder if Three Guys from Miami would have some lists?

Well... let's see... on Amelia Island there is always my house. You are more than welcome here. Are you fishing here? I could dust off a yak and slip out for a while.

One your way down you could stop at the Georgia Pig on Exit 27 (I think). Jekyll Island exit. They have good Q and great Brunswick Stew.

In Islamorada there is a Q place called High on the Hog or something like that. It is on the left as you are going south just over the drawbridge (I cannot remember what cut that is).

PM me if you are interested in doing anything when you are here.

Smoking Gator, we are staying on amelia with a friend of my friend. I believe the last name is Knight and he snow birds the winter down there. Nice enough guy. Heck yea I'd love to at least stop and say hello. We're picking up a Kaskazi dorado in Fort lauderdale then working the keys for a day then driving to amelia for a couple of days then home. I see there is a sonny's in amelia. Any good? Maybe we could meet for a quick meal, if anyone else is in the neighborhood they could join us. Scott

The sailfish and dolphin are fired up in South Florida. If you can catch a warm day in Islamorada the bones will be crawling all over the flats on the both sides on a rising tide.

Sonny's is Sonny's... I grew up eating it and it is decent, consistent Q. About a 25 minute drive due west is a little town named Callahan. There is a real deal Q joint there. Maybe we could drive over together and get a bite.

No matter what let's make sure to meet up even if it is just to shake hands and say hello!!!

Maybe this will help...

I can't vouch for it, but this is their listing....

Thanks for the post. Heading to Naples, FL tomorrow PM. I had heard about Michelbob's...may want to give Rib City a try... it is very convenient to where I'll be staying. Any other input on Naples, FL and area BBQ places?

Thanks again.

Yours in BBQ,

Cliff

Crap...on 95 south to FTL, you pass within a 1/2 mile of my house in Melbourne. Unfortunately I fly out on Sat for Finland and am gone all week. Maybe next time you can swing in for a beer!
