So I went from backyard BBQ guy to selling BBQ at a farmers market to making smoked salmon (for my Jewish buddies who wouldn’t even look at my pork ribs)...to opening a restaurant very soon. WTF??
Long story short I partnered up with one of my friends (who is already in the restaurant business) and we are opening in Ventnor. Restaurant will be called Water Dog. Our company is Water Dog Smoked Fish. Currently we wholesale to some of the casinos and restaurants in the area and in Philly. In the restaurant we will have all our smoked fish (4 varieties of smoked salmon, whitefish, fish and non-fish spreads), and our own pastrami, corned beef, smoked turkey, smoked ham....and lots of bagels. We will also have poke bowls (never even knew they existed).
I’m mentioning all of this not to get business or boast...but to thank this website and all of the awesome people on it. I learned more on here than any school or book could teach. This is such a special group of VERY generous individuals who share some very detailed cooking info with almost anyone genuinely interested in leaning. In my opinion...if you want to learn BBQ...there is no better place on this or any other planet than the BBQ Brethren.
P.S.—-I have a zillion fish/BBQ pics to share and I’ll get on that ASAP....
