Man - I've been so busy this week it's ben tought to keep up with bretheren postings. Last weekend I was a drunken smokin' bachelor bastidge all weekend. On Saturday, Mike and I did 4 dozen turds, 2 racks of spares, 4 stuffed peppers, and the gravlox salmon. A local grocer's add had corned beef points for $1.08 starting the next morning. Drove on a hangover at 9:00 Sunday and picked up 6 really nice lean points. Smoked 2 of them. One I soaked in DP for 6 hours, the other in water. The DP one was guess what? - Sweeter. They were both really good though - makes for great reubens. I'll buy about 6 more points this weekend. Tomorrow I'm doing a pot of chili, sushi, and pulled pork for a party. Have a great one.

A hint of salt but not nearly overpowering. I would have soaked then longer but wanted to eat at a decent time. Great smoke taste - used red oak and cherry.

A lot of the OLD threads are like that -- there weren't a whole bunch of us around and some of the threads were more like "list" postings...we'd just come from Yahoo! so were still in that mode...:-D
