• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Happy Birthday America...

While spending the day with family, friends, bbq, and fireworks I will be thinking of those that came before me and provided me with such a wonderful country to live in.

Thankyou.

To Our Guardians

I know were all busy today but lets find time to send a prayer or a nice thought to our guardians on call today.
To all in our armed services wether on U.S. soil or in harms way in a foriegn land.
To our law enforcement and firemen & woman and medical personnel.
And all who can't be with their familys today.
Happy 4th of July!!
And THANK YOU.....

I couldn't agree more. We have our freedom because brave men and women have guarded and preserved it for 231-years.

Amen to the greatest country on the planet. Amen to all of our protectors as well! We would really be in deep trouble without them.

One of my favorite movie lines of all~time...

"Son we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Wienburg? I have more responsilbility here than you could possibly fathom. In places you don't want to talk about at parties, you want me on that wall...you need me on that wall. We use words like honour, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'm as a punchline! I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd prefer you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!"

When it comes right down to it, regardless of one's thoughts or beliefs on the direction of our country, we should all take the time to occasionally read or re~read the founding documents and try to understand what our founding fathers thought, stood and died for...

And thanks to Carbon Toe's relatives who made this all possible

On Independence day each year, I sit down and read the Declaration of Independence.
More eloquent words have never been penned.
A greater risk has never been taken.
A higher price has never been paid. The men that set their hand to that document knew the instant they signed it they could face the gallows.
It still amazes me 231 years later.
