• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Greetings!

Hello all. I just joined the brethren a few days ago. Stumbled upon the site while looking for some recipes for the smoker I just got for Christmas. I haven't been cooking very long since I just moved out on my own back in the end of January. Before I moved out, I studied a little on Chinese stir fry. I mastered Kung Pao chicken and learned a few other dishes, but didn't really learn how to cook on my own until I moved out on my own. After I moved out, I learned a few more basic dishes, but I didn't really start cooking until I got my first grill back in April for my BDay. Seven months and 5 propane tanks later, I've pretty much mastered everything I've grilled. For the past few months, I've been wanting a smoker. For Christmas, my wife and my parents got me a Great Outdoors gas smoker. I just tried it out yesterday with a brisket. Never really done much with briskets. I'm guessing it turned out good cause my electric knife cut through it like warm butter and the juices flowed out of it when I carved it. I'll be trying chicken wings tomorrow as well as my first fatty. Wish me luck everyone.

Welcome to the Brethren!! Ask lots of questions. Post often. Don't be shy. I am fairly new here also and can tell you this is a one of the best places on the internet that I have found.

Hi Crow! This is the place to learn and share stuff about food, that's for sure. And Chinese stir-fry fits the bill!

Welcome to your new obsession! I mean bbq, not the board, though some would argue that!

Welcome to the asylum!

Brisket is a difficult cut for your first cook! I'm glad it came out OK. Everything else should be easy!

Welcome Crow. How's your general's chicken? I love that stuff almost as much as Q.

That's my wife's favorite dish. She likes mine alright, but still prefers the restaurants.
