Howdy folks...
My name is Marco, im a 31 years old BBQ-Holic from germany.
I heard rumours about this forum for a long time, but always hesitated to
register because it was a closed forum. Anyway, i did register a couple of weeks ago i think i might have a darn good time around here.
I got hooked to grilling and barbecuing about 7 years ago, and its got more and more intense each year.
I´m looking forward to learn a good bit of new stuff and have lots of fun here, like i did on a couple of other Q forums.
Barbecuing or even indirect grilling is really rare over here, sometimes me and my mates feel like barbecue pioneers. 95 % of all germans grill small, thin cuts of meat over a small cheapo open top grill, sometimes they even cover the grate with aluminum foil :icon_smil
So, my friends and i have a barbecue forum ( www.mybbq.net ) and a competition team. We were quite successful in our first year and were looking forward to the world championchips next year in Belgium.
I cook on a whole lot of different grills and Smokers, i got a bunch of Weber Kettles
Two Char grillers
A WSM on steroids
and a couple of smaller grills, like Keg-a-que, MECO Water Smoker
Currently im almost done building a Klose BYC Style offset smoker
and im about to mount it on its trailer to have it sandblasted and painted next week.
Heres some more food porn :
German BBQ Championchips :
Rack of Lamb
Pork tenderloin, stuffed with goat cheese and spinach, then cooked and wrapped in puff pastry
12 inch burger ( 7 pounds of cow, selfmade bun)
Apricot and Plum stuffed pork tenderloin
T-Bone with eggplant burgers and Beans
Homemade Jalapeno, cheddar, texasbbqrub and beer brats
Thats it for now,
Cheers,
Don Marco
