Flew into DFW for a conference in Grapevine that starts tomorrow. I had a chance to drive over to Dallas and eat lunch at the original Sonny Bryan's.
It was a treat. I know lots of people say it isn't as good as it once was, but I really enjoyed it. The brisket sandwich was good (I've had better brisket) but along with the beans, onion rings and the total atmospher it was a nice day.
The last time I was in Dallas was 1977 for a Led Zeppelin concert. It's changed a great deal. But what hasn't changed is how nice everyone is. This is such a friendly area. You Texas brothers should be proud. The Texas hospitality is alive and well.
I visited a couple of other places, but only took pictures. Drove by North Main Street BBQ but they are closed during the week. Just finished dinner at the steak house at Bass Pro Shop. Nice hunk of meat...
Anyway, it's off to work tomorrow.
All and all it was a great day.
