is one Smokin' Farker
....pain in the arse. Was over looking at the wood pile earlier. Noticed some of it is starting to get checks in the ends. Banged a few different splits together, starting to not sound so dense. Guess I will have to learn how to cook on it......again. Right now it is impossible for me to get a bed of coals going. I am cooking using fire instead of the heat from the coals. Food is still very flavorful. Getting some killer smoke rings. Ribs today we're my best yet. Very juicey.
One thing that I do have to remember is to brush off the top of the cook chamber after every few cooks. While I do have some seasoning going on I also am getting a good amount of flakey junk.
I really like how easy it is to get good food off of my Eggs. But as good as the food is off the Egg the RF just is that much better. And I have only been using the RF for 5 months or so. Can't wait for the wood to season.
I have a 125 gallon or so tank that I am planning to use for a conventional offset.
Given a choice...which do you folks prefer....a Reverse Flow or an Offset. I am thinking if I build anew Offset I may fabricate "tuning plates" just to have them...any thoughts?
Stick burning....quite a bit of work but the results are well worth it...
