• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Howdy to everyone. Well I guess I'll start with going to a auction and buying a bandera smoker for 45.00 bucks a week ago come Saturday. It was put together but never used. I brought it home to Topeka and seasoned it on Sunday. Man it leaks smoke everywhere, so I thought I'd look on the web and see if I could find anything on this new toy. Thats how I happened onto all of you. This is quite the place just to look around. Then I started readin and the next thing you know it's 3 in the morning. Anyway this AM with your tips I bought fire brick (3"x9"x1 1/4") @ 1.03 bucks each. This evening I made the new fire grate and drilled holes in the door (top and bottom Latch side) in the smoke box I tacked 3/16" bolts to go thur the door holes so you can wing nut it shut to keep ambient air out + smoke and heat in. Tomorrow sometime I hope to install high heat gaskets and the Baffle that is suggested by you folks. friday and saturday are my days off so hope to give this baby a test run on 1 of those days weather and wife permittin. Things I Like well the wife and kids come to mind along with the farm we have thats mostly a hobby to keep me from getting to fat.. We like to go to the Lake and water ski drink watch the folks in some party cove and so on. Oh lets don't forget tail gateing at K State and KC Chiefs Football games comin up real soon. But the wife and I love to cook and shoot the bull anytime anywhere and we're looking forward to learnin how to use this smoker we got. hope youall can help with that a little. Lookin forward to chatin with you folks real soon.
