• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

The roadtrip we took in May that ended with the Cimarron, also included a stop at a roadside attraction called the Osceola Cheese Shop. They had a huge selection of pickles, relishes, jams, jellies and some Q sauces. I brought home two of the sauces, honey habanero (sucked) and Apple Cinnamon. Just tried the apple cinnamon last night on some grilled loin chops. Farking incredible. I can't wait to try it on some ribs.
It's not available on line, but sauce club members can look forward to sampling this as soon as I make it back there, its over 3 hrs round trip but I will be getting more.

This sauce has a hint of the flavor of apple butter in the base. Has anyone ever used apple butter in a marinade, sauce, glaze or to otherwise flavor Q?

yep sure have.
My favorite Apple Butter comes from
The Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
It is awsome!!!
Biscuit, slice of fattie, apple barn apple butter.
If God made anything better I don't want to find
it this late in life.

Always stop in Osceola on the way to the lake to buy a bag of banana chips. Love those things!!!

Back in the Chef days I've have enhanced a few BBQ sauces with apple butter or apple sauce. Every year I pick up some AP at the Apple Butter festival in Berkely Springs VA. Around this magical time of the year I sometimes will use apple butter as a glaze on ribs or pork butt when cooking Q. I tend to cut it with a little JD or apple cider vinegar.

Other those listed I normally do not use it alot unless spreading it on buttered toast.

Apples always go good with pork. Try laying sliced apples ontop of your ribs when you put them into the smoker than removing them when you go to foil the ribs. Puree the now smoked baked apple slilces into your sauce. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
