I recently ate at one of the Full Moon BBQ chains. They have several locations in central Alabama, this one was located in Alabaster, just a little south of Birmingham on I-65.
Great Service.

First off I want to mention that I drive past this place every day going to and from work. They continously have perfect blue smoke pouring out of their chimeny each time. A good stack of hickory is present behind the resteraunt, a pile that each time I pass is never at the same height. Meaning they are going through some wood. I had the babyback rib plate. It came with a half rack of the biggest babybacks I've ever seen and two sides of my choice. I had fries and mac n' cheese. The ribs were cooked just right, not fall off the bone, but close to it. Nice smoke ring showed they had been cooked on the pit and not boiled. The dry rub was noticable, but nothing special. The sauce good, but not overpowering. My wife had a chopped pork sandwich and fries. (Its like pulling teeth to find a place around here that doesn't chop their pulled pork). She was very pleased with her sandwich, but didn't have too many BBQ snob comments to share as I do. This just means I'll have to go back and try out other stuff for a full menu report. Of note is that they have a gazillion flat screen tvs in the dining area with them all tuned to a sports channel. Lots of good football to watch while you stuff yourself. On a 1-10 scale this place and the plate I had gets a solid 8.5 Give 'em a try if you are in the B'ham area.
