• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

New to my butchers, I got a full packer and tried it out.
When I got the bag open , I discovered the processors had sliced through the point so I separated them for a better outcome.

Nice looking beef.

Rubbed with S&P and honey Pecan.

Got some pretty nice bark, it was an outstanding result.

I had trimmings, more than usual because of the processor.
So I boiled them!

Thanks guys!

Very nice chunk of meat, the marbling almost looks like it has some waygu in the bloodline. Combined with that bark, I bet is was pretty tasty.

What does Grain finished mean?
It means that the steer was fed grain based feeds during the final weeks or months of it's life. This fattens the steer up, and changes the flavor of the fat to a richer flavor. It is the typical method for fattening a steer. Grass-finished means the steer was fed only grass during it's life. It often means it was pasture fed only, but, it doesn't have to mean that.
