• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

My wife is now an addict. I got her to help a little with the brisket last weekend and she enjoyed it. She's been watching the BBQ Pitmasters marathon on tv all day and I just heard her tell her dad that she's addicted and is determined that our BBQ will be the best in our subdivision.

She just came downstairs to remind me that the new season starts tonight. Call me the luckiest man alive.

When Mommy is happy, everybody is happy.
Sounds like you will be happy too.
Lucky man.

A good woman like that is hard to find (i've been married to a mighty fine one for almost 25 years). Congrats!

Couldn't agree more. She's been my best friend for over 15 years and this latest "similar interest" just makes it even better.

Sounds likw "momma" may be in the market for a new pit!

Wouldn't be surprised if I came home to a big drum in the driveway ;-), but I'm just hoping that she'll be ok with me buying more stuff for my old clay Kamado. I see remote thermos in my future... And someone to tag team the pit for overnight smokes.

My wife helps me when she can. Came to her first contest in Aug 2010. We were dating the and I made it clear this was part of my life and if she wanted to be with me then she would probably need to get involved. Had her hooked at chicken turnin and brisket sealed the deal. In April we did a class that included a practice contest and she was the head cook. She already knew a lot but doing injecting and seasoning using my process was an eye opener. Cutting meat for the box was mega stressful but she got it done. Afterwords she said she had a new appreciation for what we the stuff we do that she thought we made look easy.

She has improved my presentation in FBA where I'm still learning after 25+ contests. She will make me better at SAMS in Nashville in September. You're lucky even if it's just cooking at home.

The more she likes it the more understanding she will be when you buy that next cooker. :thumb:

Excellent point. Wonder what I'll want next... Any suggestions? I already own a Weber Genesis, Weber Kettle and an Imperial Kamado.

It's gonna be real warm and friendly around the bed tonight :P

You're one lucky guy.

I agree that having a partner in (smoking) crime is a blessing.

Please ask her to sign up here. We could always use a second opinion.
