• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Hi All I got the phone call from Tyler,he is starting building my smoker.
Should be ready for my U shipper to pick up next Sunday the 13th.
Then delivered to my home that week some time.
My smoker is one of the smaller ones 24x36 patio with cabinet doors, 2 temp gauges,2 probe ports.
Before ordering the Shirley I looked at few other builders getting more bang for my buck with the Shirley, plus the great craftsmanship.

I got lots of great info. on this forum, about their product and what a great family they are, made it a NO brainier, even thou I went over my budget.

I was a little worried at first whit the bids I was getting on Uship, then found one I could live with.
Thanks DanB

I am picking mine up this next Saturday and if he does not post pics of yours I can take a few and send them to you or post them on here if you want ? but you might want the wow factor for seeing it when it is delivered .

Congrats.Bet I know what you'll be doing this summer. I have a standing offer for all Shirley owners. If you don't like it I will take it off your hands free of charge. I will even come and pick it up!

Hi When I last spoke to Tyler,he said he would send some pics my way.
I understand that he is pretty busy now days.
My smoker would be a great addtion to the Shirley web site since it is one of the smaller ones for us backyard smokers.
Thanks DanB

Feels like I have been right there with you for awhile reading your thread on shipping. That's just a little bigger than my previous offset and it will hold more than you think. I would love to have one on my patio where it would be much easier to get to.

Hi Yeah shipping was becoming a nightmare. I did luck out and found someone who is 2 hrs away from Tuscaloosa the 2nd week of each month, and 2 hrs away from me. He gave me a price I can live with. He mostly handles antique furniture, so my smoker should arrive in good shape.
Stupid question, can I season and smoke my 1st meal same time?
Thanks DanB

I would go at least an hour to burn off anything that might be in there but that's just me being paranoid like usual. Then get to your temp and throw on the food.

No worries Dan I flew over my budget too but its the last smoker we will ever buy. That is till you want that 24x70 elevated cabinet trailer.

Hi I don't think so the 24 x 36 with 2 cooking shelfs, should be plenty of space for me and my wife.
Thanks DanB

Congrats on the Shirley, I know it will serve you well.
