• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I just got my spicewine temp guage today in the mail and ya'll were right this is bad ass. So my next question how does the Taylor digital temp guage for the meat temp work??? Is the Nu-temp that much better???

Thanks,
Frank the tank

Glad you got your Spicewine... I was thrilled to get mine and have been very happy with them... make sure to calibrate before you mount them. One of mine was dead on and the other was off a few degrees. Of course it was the one I had already installed and I had to take if off... my bad!!

Put it in boiling water. It should read 212 degrees if not adjust the calibration screw in the back.

Since you are cooking much closer to 212 than 32 it is probably better to use the boiling water.

Rember to adjust the temp for your elevation and barametric pressure. Most of the time in the KC area the temp will be about 210 - not a big difference here but in a place like Denver it would be much different.
