Did a charity cook for a friend of the family. My mother-in-law's friend needed to raise some money to send and accompany her daughter on a choir trip to New York. I recommended to her that I could smoke some butts for pulled pork sammiches she could sell at her church and work.

Her butcher gave her 3 butts for $1.39 lb. and threw in a couple small roast for only 0.99 lb.

Injected the butts with apple juice with a little Plowboy's Yard Bird dissolved in it. Slathered them with yellow mustard and rubbed em good with Plowboy's.

The two small roast got the same treatment as the butts except I ran low on the Plowboy's so mixed the little that was left with some Lawry's and some Rufus Teague rub I had left over from my last smoke.

Here is all going on the WSM to get happy.

The PitmasterIQ has the WSM cruising along at 250.

Pulled everything off the WSM as the meats hit about 195 to rest for about 45 minutes.

Pulled after a 45 minute rest. Everything turned out perfect except for those little small roast being a tad dry, but they got mixed in with the rest so that didn't matter too much.

My mother-in-law made a couple of pound cakes for her friend to portion up. Her friend is going to make up bag lunches with a pulled pork sammich, tater chips, and a slice of cake. She was also going to sell chicken plates so hopefully she made enough to send her daughter and accompany her on the choir trip. I'll know tomorrow if it was a success.

Thanks for looking!

Man that looks great. I would be afraid too cook for a group of people.

Thanks! Don't be afraid to cook for people. It's how you get your best feedback. If worried about getting people sick, just don't serve anything you wouldn't feed your own family. I doubt I would do it on a larger scale like catering. I don't think I would like it too much for all the red tape I hear you have to go through.

Success! Ms. Paula made over $300 combined between the sammich bagged lunches and her chicken dinner plates. She was able to get 30 pulled pork sammiches out of that haul and they said they even had some left over to enjoy themselves. I was glad to hear it! Combined with what they made in an earlier yard sale, they made enough for the trip!

I have to give ya'll the run down on Ms. Paula cause she is a good hearted woman that I didn't even hesitate to help. Just a few years ago, her sicko husband was convicted on child porn charges that she had to turn him in for. He was into some really sick stuff that he was able to hide from her for years. That couldn't have been an easy thing to go through. Since then she has had to raise her three teenaged kids on her own, one with recently developed medical problems, and has been doing a really good job at it. They don't have a lot of money, but Ms. Paula always does what she can to help others. Every time there has been a death in my wife's family, Ms. Paula is the first one that was at the door with food and instantly went into housecleaning mode because she new they would have company showing up. Just an all around good person that I was thankful I was able to help as she would do the same for us.

Thanks for all the kind words ya'll!
