• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Good deal?

My wife called her sister and ask if she had the CI Dutch oven her Mom had. She said no it went to a brother but she had another one a little larger. Seems it was on top of the freezer in the garage and was too heavy to lift. Well she is 76 years old. SIL would not give it away or sell it but would loan it for a year. Now the thing is since it's just the wife and me should I bring that thing home?

Got one in the garage. Does that count?

Now that's funny. At least you will have a place to put it where it will feel at home.

Seriously, if it is "on loan", I wouldn't fool with it for the number of times you might use it.

Funny stuff right there!
If it were me, I would bring it home, I've loaned things to the kids, not expecting to get them back and if I do, I always say borrow it when you need it

Two things need to be determined.

1. Will this create a strife between you and your relatives.

2. Where will it get the most use.

I personally have no patience on things like this anymore. It is pretty obvious that it will sit on top of her freezer forever, so like others said, it might as well be sitting on coals at your place. I say get it. And remember, forgiveness is much easier to obtain than permission.

One more thing to consider is the condition. If you will need to completely strip and re season it, I don't know that it would be worth it. If it is ready to go, it may be a good deal.

I'm in my 50's, I can't remember what I had for dinner 3 nights ago. She's 76- take the "loan for a year" -he might be in the same boat and you have it a lot longer than that. Or just go buy you one fair and square if you really want one.
