• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Good buy - potential???

I'm going to go look at it afterwork and purchase unless I see any major issues. The legs are removable/adjustable for height. I have a 3/16" OK Joes grill -16 x 28- that my neighbor can weld onto as a firebox. The question is ... put the firebox on the end or put the it centered on the lower back side? Either way, I'm thinking reverse flow to help keep the temps more consistant from end to end.

I want to make it so it can be easily added/removed from a utility trailer. Leave it on during the cooks, take it off so the trailer can be used for other things. Worst case scenerio - if it doesn't work all that good, I think I should still be able to sell without losing $.

That thing is much prettier shut than open! True of any pit I guess.:-D

I would put the fire box in the back, but I know very little about Evil Stick burners, so you would probably do best to do the exact opposite of anything I suggest! :icon_blush:

With a little love and care, she'll make a great grill.........I really don't know the correct answer as to where to put a firebox.....

Looks like a quality grill to me. I'd like it just as it is.

Forget about Turkeys and beer can chicken.

For $50.00 it seems like you can't lose to experiment a little. Either way it's another cooker.

Found it this morning at http://www.thesmokering.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=85716#85716

Picked it up tonight in the pouring rain. Click that link and look in the backgrounds. This guy made the scalptures in the backgrounds and I hope he adds pictures of his smokers he made (the red thing in the grill pic backgrounds). Seriously F'ing cool.

I think the two main racks are worth the $50 alone. My neighbor helped me unload it and he offered me $350 right then and there. I told him I'd have to think about it. I even asked why he was selling so cheap. This thing was an absolute steal at $50. He said it hadn't used it in over a year, he didn't need it.

Someone who knows how to weld should get those FREE tanks. Now I just need to talk to my neighbor and decide what's the best thing to do with it. Leaving it alone very well might be the best thing. I think I could still use it as a smoker and cook indirectly on it. IT'S HUGE!

You scored!!

I'll admit to being guilty of not posting that pic or link prior to getting it in the back of my truck. I didn't want to lose this thing.

That is an amazing find and a steal for $50. I'm jealous.

I'd not worry about a firebox, as big as that is, you could put fire on one side, maybe a pan of water if you think you need it, and have enough grate space to cook a good bit. I'd like it for $50 myself, but don't think I would pay $350, of course I'm pretty cheap.
