I'm going to be in the Ft Lauderdale area for a week from 6/30-7/7. Any one know where to get some good 'Q joints in the area?

xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Lucille's Bad to the Bone is just that if you order ribs. Their pulled pork is a generous helping of partially smoked boston butt. Regency Plaza off Yamato and Jog.

Tom Jenkins Barbecue. 1236 S. Federal Hwy. Fort Lauderdale, 954-522-5046. You can smell the smoke 6 blocks away. No boiled ribs here.
You've got to add to the list of bbq spots a place called "The Georgia Pig"...it's located in Ft. Lauderdale and been in business since 1953, definitely a local's hangout for the best Georgia BBQ in South Florida.

I like Mississippi Sweets BBQ in Boca Raton. 561-394-6779 They are on N. Federal Highway.
The ribs and pulled pork are very good. Have not tried anything else as I only get there once a year.
I have not tried the other places, and will have to give them a try next time I am in the area.

I have been to Lucille's and also to a party that they caterred this past May. I was not impressed with any of there stuff. There ribs were barbecued but not smoked, ok if you don't want smoke, the chicken was ok, the pulled pork passable but not that good. Remember that we are snobs and demand a good product. Just remember I told you so. Have a great time in South Florida.

I don't know about Ft Lauderdale BBQ, but whenever I passed through there I would make it a point to stop at Cammy's(sp) for oysters on the half and pitchers of beer!
