• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Yesterday I cooked two chickens. Inside the cavity of one were two chicken necks. Inside the other was one liver. I know you don't get the organs replaced back into the same bird (they're removed and processed separate) but I want my livers, gizzards and hearts. Karma I reckon, got lucky one time and the cavity had five hearts. I'm hoping y'all smoke and eat these wonderful morsels, salt and pepper. That's all. Think Ill go write an email.

I love em, i guess some have never been that hungry, OP, you can call instead of writing letters, try, 202-456-1414, I'm sure they will help

Them parts is fer catching cat fish

Exactly this! I'd rather eat the catfish I caught from using the chicken "scraps" LOL

But man I'll tell you what, My grandma would fight you for them HA. She always thought I was crazy for throwing them out or using it for fishing bait

Yup Adams, them is treats! I get the packages of hearts and gizzards at the grocery store for next to nothing, boil em up a bit of salt and chow down. Yummm! Never found them in any chicken I got though.

I eat em all...get pissed when I'm shorted as well. I bought a "whole bird" and I want all I bought. That there is false advertising!

I do love me some chicken livers and hearts....the gizzards eh not so much.

The giblets are fantastic for making gravy if you're going to have any with your meal. Otherwise, I fry them up in a tiny bit of butter, and then cut them all into chunks. Put them in a lidded container in the fridge. I've got three little dogs who suddenly become extremely obedient when they know that container is full. They'll do anything for one of these "treats".

And if you make your own dressing, them parts chopped up and added put in a lot of flavor.

The best parts of the chicken are the parts inside the bird when you buy them. One time I struck gold and got about a pound of livers in one.

Smoked chicken livers and garlic --mixed with sriracha and cream cheese makes a killer cracker spread

I love chicken hearts! I used to by them by the pound at a local Armenian market.

I'm with you Adams. Hearts, livers, gizzards, necks, all good. I have had to resort to buying giblets packaged separately. Lucky for me I have a local Walmart that carries "old time" stuff like livers, gizzards, cow tongue etc. I have always assumed it is an effort to cater to various parts of the ethnic mix of the neighborhood. I approve 100%.
