• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I was cleaning out the ashes in the Bandera from yesterday, and I decided to clean out the Weber Kettle too.

Had plenty of half used briquettes, so I filled the chimney with them and started them up on the turkey fryer.

Hosed out the kettle, it had gotten wet ashes after some crazy rain last week.

Threw the coals in there just to dry the thing out.

Fire was nice and hot. I thought, why waste it.

My wife gets up a 8:30 to see me plowing into 2 quarter pound burgers for breakfast.

Burgers for Breakfast.

Hmmm....

I had left over steak and chicken wings.

Great minds think alike....

then theres us.

I just had pulled pork after an all-night cook. Mmmm, stuff is better than bacon.

Speaking of breakfast, since I do these all-night cooks often, I was thinking of trying to make pancakes on top of the firebox in the morning. I was thinking I could use the top of the firebox, or I could use a piece of aluminum flashing over the firebox. Any thoughts?

Dont u have a stove? :)

I used to cook stuff up there just for giggles. used either a pan, or an aluminum cookie sheet.... lots of bacon was made on the top of the bandera firebox.

Come cook on my Bandera anytime

You will get 1000% of the daily RDA for iron and steel.

Rust mod, even though I oil each time

One advantage of 6,700 ft. altitude and very low humidity. no rust all paint still in place and never oiled since first seasoning.
