• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I'm looking at generator and I've seen a lot of suggestions in the threads. One that intrigued me was the dual Honda EU2000i generators. It appears that when you run them in parallel, you get 4000kw. Plus they aren't very heavy. I'd like to get some updated information on what works well for everyone.

My best friend on the planet is a master electrican.
I just put in a whole house generator in at my house. I called him before I signed a contract.
He told me for a kw it takes 2.38 horsepower per kw on a generator. My friend has been a super master electrician for almost 60 years. He approved my setup and we are happy as all get out. Just FYI.

Sorry I misspoke. Checked my notes and corrected the above HP statement. I have not eaten or slept in 5 days here. Please forgive me.

Same here, Honda EU's with extended run fuel tank.
The nice thing is, if you don't need to run them both (A/C) one will power most trailers for lights, radios, etc...

It is hard to believe the Westinghouse is not as loud as Honda, however if true a lot less money, but listen to them before purchase. I have an extra 4k onan I had in my trailer, I have an liquid cooled 6kw now. I do have a 2 kw I use so not to run the bigger one to save fuel

Just bought a Generac IQ2000, very similar to the Honda (But at $799 was at least $200 less). Read a great many reviews claiming that it is at least as quiet, and maybe even quieter than the Honda EU2000i. Should arrive this week...I guess I will be finding out.

I went the Generac route too, but we aren't heavy users. It's been fine for us though.

We are looking at the Honda 7000 as well for our home back up supply. I like the fact it is electronic friendly as we have a home office.

How long have you had the Generac(s)? I've been in the market but didn't want to spend the coin on 2 hondas.

Bought it last April before Cedar Park. We only use it to run a handful of pellet smokers and a hotplate though.

I'm checking out the Generac iQ2000 and the Westinghouse WH2400i, they discontinued the Westinghouse WH2000iXLT. Much cheaper options than the Honda.

Very popular with the RV crowd. I would go the inverter route for clean power.

According to Yamaha will last twice as long as Honda. I also believe Honda uses rubber for the their timing belts. Same BS on their cars.
